Hobert T. Combs

Hobert T. Combs, age 88 of Hamilton passed away at Mercy Hospital Fairfield on Monday, July 16, 2012 at 7:47 PM. He was born in Buckhorn, Kentucky on February 16, 1924 the son of Jep and Dora (McIntosh) Combs. Hobert was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was employed as a carpenter at Brock & Sons Construction for 39 years, retiring in 1989. On November 23, 1946 in Hamilton he married Genevieve Saylor.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Genevieve Combs of Hamilton; three sons, Gary (Bonnie) Combs, David (Debbie Still) Combs, both of Hamilton, and Terry (Linda) Combs of Fairfield; two brothers, Troy Combs of Hamilton and Rufus Combs of Buckhorn, Kentucky; 5 grandchildren, Brian Combs, Chad Combs, Crystal (Jay) Scott, Tracey (Bobby Rice) Combs, and Arista (Mike) Wahoff; 9 great-grandchildren, Fallon, Cierra, Stephanie, Josh, and Jared Combs, Chelsea and Conner Scott, Megan Rice, and Ella Wahoff; and one great-great-grandchild, Preston Bunger, and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Friday, July 20, 2012 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Ron Bicknell officiating. Burial will follow in Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon.
