Homer L. Jackson

Homer L. Jackson, age 85, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2008 at Berkeley Square Health Care at 6:52 AM. He was born on June 22, 1922 in Salyersville, Kentucky, the son of Lark and Jemima (Collinsworth) Jackson. Homer married the love of his life, Geneva Brown on May 11, 1942 in Springfield, Ohio and she preceded him in death on May 11, 1989 on their 47th wedding anniversary. Homer served in the United States Navy Seabees during World War II in Kodiak, Alaska from 1941 until the end of the war. He joined the IBEW Union Local 648 in 1948 and retired in 1987. Homer attended the Princeton Pike Church of God.

Homer is survived by one sister, Hilda Perez of Sacramento, California; four nieces, Carolyn Sue Lincoln, Linda Sheahan, Pamela Hall and Rebecca Caudill; three nephews, Theodore Long, Phillip Thaut and Jeffrey Homer Thaut; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. He also leaves his very special friends and caretakers, Jean and Elmer Vaughn. Homer was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Jackson; his parents; one brother, Reuel Jackson; and one sister, Elenore Long.

Funeral services will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Ron Medley of the Princeton Pike Church of God officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until time of service. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum. A special thank you to Dr. William Krall and the Internists of Fairfield for their wonderful care and a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Berkeley Square Health Care for all the love and care they gave to Homer. You were all special.
