Howard Bowling Jr., age 74, of Hamilton, passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospice Unit (Vitas) on Wednesday, October 31, 2007. He was born in Clay Co. Kentucky on October 25, 1933 the son of Howard and Lucy (Hoskins) Bowling. Howard was a machine operator at Ford Motor Co. Sharonville, for 30 years retiring in 1992. He was an Army veteran serving as a truck driver in Greenland and Iceland from 1954 to 1956. On June 29, 1957 in Liberty, Indiana he married Barbara Whiteman, who preceded him in death in 1997.
He is survived by three grandchildren, Ashley Lipps, and Brandon Lipps both of Hamilton, and Kyle Hoskins of Newton, Iowa; a great-grandson Cameron; and a brother, Dennis (the late Anna) Bowling of Hamilton. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Hoskins in 1996; two brothers, Carl Bowling and Ralph Bowling; and two sisters, Mary ( Harold) Jaqui and Mattie (Steve) Robenson.
Funeral services will be held at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave., on Saturday, Nov. 3rd at 10:00 AM with Rev. Paul Marcum and Bro. Floyd Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow in Oxford Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 5 to 8 PM.
