Howard Floyd Miller

Howard Floyd Miller, age 76 of Hamilton passed away at Wellington Manor on Monday, July 5, 2010 at 2:10 AM. He was born in Warren County, Ohio on January 9, 1934 the son of Howard Floyd and Martha (Wood) Miller. Howard was a veteran of the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957 and was employed as a conducting engineer for AK Steel. He was a member of AmVets Post Ohio #1988 and McGonigle-Millville United Methodist Church. On June 19, 1956 in Liberty, Indiana he married Hazel Werner.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Hazel Miller of Hamilton; a son, James (Jody) Miller of Fairfield; three daughters, Teresa (John) Kappes of Versailles, Indiana, Pamela May of Fountain, Colorado, and Martha (Ron Strunk) O’Connor of Hamilton; four sisters, Pat Brown of London, Ohio, Ruth Rhodon of Dayton, Ohio, Jane (Gary) Hayman of Ruskin, Florida, and Jean (Homer) Johnson of London, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Brian (fiancée Patricia Hall) Kappes of Versailles, Indiana, Stephanie (Bryan) Copeland of Madison, Indiana, Chrystie Pridemore of Hamilton, Brittney May, Kelly Febus both of Fountain, Colorado, Heather Downie and Kyle Downie, both of Hamilton; and seven great-grandchildren, Andrew, Isaac, Clayton, Landyn, Coltyn, Bryson, and Brody. He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters, Carmen Massey, Leota Pytel, Dorothy Spahr, and Margaret Miller.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Friday, July 9, 2010 a 12:00 noon with Rev. Edwin R. Beck, Pastor of McGonigle-Millville United Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon.
