Howard S. Young, age 93 of Fairfield, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2013. He was born in Mt. Sterling, KY on June 11, 1920 to William and Celie (Pennington) Young. Howard was a veteran of the United States Army, 1st Armored Division during WWII.
He is survived by a son, Wallace (Beverly) Young; daughter, Kathy (Larry) Wallen; grandchildren, Anthony Young, Julie (Josh) Rupley, Nicholas (Nicki Francis) Young, Shaun (Kristin) Wallen, Dean (Paulette) Fischesser, Don (Debbie) Fischesser; son-in-law, Roger Fischesser; 13 great-grandchildren; and a very special friend, Flo Songer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise (DeFazio) Young; a daughter, Mary Ellen Fischesser; and a son, Joseph Young.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 400 Nilles Rd., on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at 11:00 AM with Fr. Larry Tharp celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2013 from 9:30 - 10:30 AM at the Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
