Hugh Moore

Hugh Moore, age 64 of Hamilton passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospital on Sunday, February 21, 2010 at 2:22 AM. He was born in Hamilton on February 28, 1945 the son of Cam and Lillie (Rowland) Moore. Hugh was employed in maintenance for SOS for 31 years, retiring in 1999. He was a member of New Beginning Tabernacle. On April 23, 1966 in Hamilton he married Patricia Bryant.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Moore of Hamilton; three children, Jennifer (Rick) Harrison, Charles (Rene’) Moore, both of Hamilton, and Hugh Scott (Amy) Moore of Middletown; five grandchildren, Sarah Evers, Owen Moore, Isabelle Moore, Jacob Harrison, and Evan Moore; a sister, Theresa (Charles) Petit of Fairfield; a nephew, Del Gray of Tennessee; two brothers-in-law, Richard Bryant and Charles (Debbie) Bryant, both of Hamilton; and his mother-in-law, Virgie Bryant of Hamilton. He was preceded in death by his father; by his mother and stepfather, Lillie and Edwin Cox; father-in-law, Charlie Bryant; brother-in-law, Delbert Gray; sister-in-law, Linda Bryant; and a niece, Nancy Bryant.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Friday, February 26, 2010 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Charles Petit of New Beginning Tabernacle officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Hugh was a loving, kind man and "a great outdoorsy type" who loved life and will be deeply missed by everyone who was a part of his life.
