Irene "Tootie" Pennington

Irene "Tootie" Pennington, age 81 of Fairfield passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Friday, December 31, 2010 at 9:55 AM. She was born in Hamilton on February 15, 1929 the daughter of Irvin and Alice (Ballard) Pennington. Tootie was a member of the New Life Baptist Mission and was previously employed by Goodwill Industries.

She is survived by three sisters, Mae Knisley of Fairfield, Bonnie Thompson of Hamilton, and Jackie Seals of Fairfield; nine nieces and nephews, Brady Seals, Greg Robinson, Alice Gilbert, Sharon Crito, Bob Bales, Dana Holtzclaw, James Gray, Ron Gray, and Phyllis Miller; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, June Sallee; and niece, Vanessa Wogenstahl.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Ron Stewart and Ron Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
