Irma J. Swain

Irma J. Swain, age 88 of Hamilton passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospice Unit on Friday, February 8, 2008 at 9:55 PM. She was born in Hamilton on June 2, 1919 the daughter of Fred and Olive Corinne (Riley) Botner. Irma was a member of St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church. On July 23, 1938 in Hamilton she married William Swain, and he preceded her in death. She is survived by two daughters, Barbara "Ginny" (Lawrence) Williams and Sandra (Gunter) Swain, both of Hamilton; three grandchildren, Rebecca (Robert) Tompkins, Michael (Natalie) Williams, and David (Allison) Williams, all of Hamilton; six great-grandchildren, Tyler, Abigail, Hanna, Brendan, Reese, and Makenna; a brother, Fred (Marilyn) Botner Jr. of Florida; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Brenda Swain; a brother, Allan Botner; and a sister, Alberta Montgomery. Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Alan Weaver of Hamilton Church of God officiating. Burial will follow in Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
