Iva Dean Gray

Iva Dean Gray, age 73 of Fairfield passed away at Mercy Hospital of Fairfield on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 11:40 PM. She was born in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky on August 29, 1938 the daughter of Alfred and Ada (Miller) Davis. Iva was a member of Truth Tabernacle Apostolic Church in Middletown. On December 19, 1957 in Hamilton she married Lester Gray, and he preceded her in death in 1988.

She is survived by five children, Ada Marie (Don) Hammer of Batavia, Lester (Narka) Gray Jr. of Hamilton, Ella Denise (Rob) Brainerd of Indian Springs, Vonda Dean (Doug) Banks and Hannah Michelle (Mark) Brockman, both of Hamilton; three brothers, Paris Davis, Jay Davis, and Scotty Davis, all of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; two sisters, Orena Hollan and Sue Centers, both of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; thirteen grandchildren, Jeanette, Melissa, Joseph, Andrew, Jordan, Joel, Brandie, Adara, Brittany, Dawson, Tyler, Samantha, and Mark; nine great-grandchildren, Cadence, Makayla, AJ, Lijah, Jalynn, Aidan, Aubree, Alexander, Gabriel; loving companion Thomas Goodpaster of Fairfield and devoted lifelong friend Phyllis Ante of Hamilton. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Sam Davis; a sister, Myrtle Blevins; and a grandson, Justin Brainerd.

Funeral service will be held at the Truth Tabernacle Apostolic Church, 6879 Hamilton-Middletown Road, Middletown, on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at 12:00 noon with Pastor Daniel Hidlebaugh officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
