Iva Lee Hensley

Iva Lee Hensley, age 95 of Hamilton, passed away at Miami Valley Hospital on Friday, February 10, 2017. Iva was born in Sadieville, Kentucky on December 4, 1921 to Richard Williamson Sr. and Bertha (Wells) Williamson. On November 13, 1946 she married Frank M. Hensley Sr., and he preceded her in death on October 28, 1995. Her passion was working with flowers in and around her house, in her garden with two green thumbs. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.

Iva is survived by her two children, Charmaine (Clifford) Zimmerer and Frank (Jewel) Hensley; three grandchildren, Jamie (Lindsay Kahsar) Combs, Ashley (Andrew) Potts, Maricus (Danielle Puckett) Hensley; great grandchildren, Zoe, Tori, Callie, Gabe, Austin, Avery, Brynley, Tyler; and one great great grandson, Zayden; brothers and sisters, Richard Williamson Jr., Katie Motley, Sue Carol James, James Roberts Williamson, Margerie Whitlock, Betty Williamson, Geraldine W. Jones, Linda Sergeant, Frankie W. Gay, Lorada W. Shingeton, Josephine White, and Ethel Hope Sons. Iva was preceded in death by her parents, Bertha Williamson and Richard Williamson Sr., her husband, Frank M. Hensley Sr., her son Roger Lee Hensley, whom held a very special place in her heart; and one brother, Dudley Williamson.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave., Hamilton, Ohio, on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of donor’s choice.
