Jack J. Dennett, age 87 of Hamilton, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, April 7, 2016. He was born in Akron, OH on February 1, 1929 to the late Vern and Marie (Becker) Dennett. He married the love of his life, Ann Glaser on May 24, 1952, and they celebrated 63 wonderful years together. He was a family man, who treasured his wife, children, and grandchildren. Jack was a Sargent First Class in the U.S. Army from December 1950 until September 1952 and served in the Korean War with the 5th Regimental Combat Unit. As owner and operator of Jack Dennett’s Barbershop, he thoroughly enjoyed his 62 year career as a master barber, servicing many generations, and making close friends along the way.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Dennett; daughters, Debbie (Mike) Dingledine Sr., Donna (Chuck) Wells; sons, Vern Dennett, and Mike (Jay) Dennett; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Arthur Schwartz; special friends, Bob and Audrey Alston; and numerous other family and friends. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Ann Dennett; brothers, Vern, Robert, and Merle Dennett; a sister, Frances Schwartz; and his parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church, 224 Dayton St., on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at 10:00 AM with Fr. Michael Pucke, celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Stephens Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 from 9:00 - 10:00 AM at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society of St. Julie Billiart Church in his memory.
