Jack Flannery

July 9, 1927 — September 24, 2008

Jack Flannery, beloved husband of Mollie (Lewis) Cotton Flannery, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 24, 2008. He was born on July 9, 1927 in Jackson County, Kentucky to Bert and Rushia (VanWinkle) Flannery. Jack was drafted into the United States Army, where he graduated with high honors from the United States Army’s Europe Ordinance School at Eschwege, Germany. After returning to the states as a civilian, he was drafted again. He chose to serve his second term with the United States Air Force, where he served his country fighting in the Korean War. He was employed by Fein Tool Company, retiring in 1993. Due to his military background, Jack enhanced his expert shooting skills as a member of the Butler County Sportsmen’s Club. In addition to shooting, Jack also enjoyed fishing on his boat as well as watching the Cincinnati Reds with his wife Mollie. All who knew him will remember him as a quiet, intelligent man who loved the Lord. But most of all, Jack was a family man and it showed in the way he cared for his wife of 19 years, his children, and his extended family.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his wife Mollie; two sons, Ronnie (Connie) Flannery and David Flannery; one sister, Levelle (Frederick) Burlew; five stepsons, Troy (Susie) Cotton, Chuck (Diana) Cotton, Rick (Tammy) Cotton, Marshall (Patty) Cotton, A.T.
