Jack E. Schenck, age 80 of Hamilton passed away at his residence on Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at 11:00 AM. He was born in Trenton on June 1, 1927 the son of Roy and Helen (Gray) Schenck. Jack was a veteran of the United States Navy during World War II and was employed in maintenance at Champion Paper Company for thirty-eight years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of American Legion Post #138 and Amvets #1983. In 1945 in Hamilton, he married Betty Garrett, and she preceded him in death in 1979; in 1983 in Hamilton, he married Jane Marie Hicks, and she preceded him in death in 2007.
He is survived by a daughter, Paula (Ed) Timler of Hamilton; a stepson, Wayne (Susan Hall) Hazelwood of Hamilton; five brothers, Homer (Nancy "Pansie") Schenck of Middletown, Bob (Barbie) Schenck of Gratis, Bill (Phyllis) Schenck, Teddy Schenck, both of Trenton, and Jim (Martha) Schenck of Middletown; four sisters, Dorothy Daily of Trenton, Patty Harris of Magnetic Springs, Ohio, Sherry (Harold) Shanie of Hamilton, and Joyce Skinner of Marysville, Ohio; three granddaughters, Wanda (Rick) Roberts, Rhonda Campos, and Jacqueline (Brian) Speers; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters, Helen Coate, Carol Marcum, Mary Watson, and Martha Tincher.
Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Saturday, September 1, 2007 at 9:30 AM with Pastor David Schenck of Buckeye Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
