Jack L. Stewart, age 75 of Hamilton, passed away at his residence on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at 1:00PM. He was born in Hazard, Kentucky on May 6, 1932, the son of Charles and Arlena (Moore) Stewart. On December 24, 1949 in Hazard, Kentucky he married Frances McDaniel. Jack was a member of the Laurel Avenue Church of Christ, Washington Lodge #17 F&AM, Eagles Lodge, and the Middletown Moose. He began working at a very young age in the coal mines in Kentucky and moved his family to Ohio where he began work as a heavy equipment operator for 45 years, retiring in 1992. Jack continued his strong work ethic by working up until the day before his journey with his illness began. On any given day you would find Jack working in his garden, canning vegetables, chopping wood, and anything else to keep him busy.

Jack had strong values and beliefs which he instilled in his family. He always believed that family was the most important thing and that his family should always come first. Jack was a very proud husband, father, and grandpa, who is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Frances Stewart; three children, Sue (Bryan) Supinger of Fairfield, Sharon (Richard) Adkins, and Jackie Stewart Jr., both of Hamilton; special nephew, that he considered like a son, Charles (Pam) Campbell of Marion, Indiana; sister, Jean Moore of Oregon; five grandchildren, Stephanie (Brent) Mason, Katie (Rich) Heidorn, Glenn (Jamie) Hibbard, Chrissy (Mike) Sester, and Scott (Lonnie) Campbell; seven great-grandchildren, Jessica, Cody, Haille, Peyton, Erin, Aubrey, and Dalton; and special friends, Jesse Philpot and Bud Noe. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Larry Stewart; grandson, Eric Sparks; four brothers, Johnce Junior, Silas Robert, Johnny Leon, and Paul Stewart; and one sister Orbena Campbell.

Funeral services will be at the Brown Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave., on Wednesday,September 26, 2007 at 10:00 AM with Jim Neal of Laurel Avenue Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00 PM-8:00 PM at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a heart felt thank you to Dr. Thomas Sargero for his kind words, caring attitude, and special visits. His kindness and understanding really meant the world to us. We would also like to extend a thank you to Vitas Hospice Crisis Care Team, especially Demetrius Duke for his extra attention and thoughtfulness.
