James "Mousey" Bales, age 81 of Hamilton passed away at Butler County Care Facility on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 5:30 PM. He was born in Lockland on January 2, 1929 the son of Robert A. and Mary (Hubbard) Bales. James was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1946 to 1948 and was employed as a millwright at Fisher Body for 43 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of Moose Lodge #2417. On December 2, 1950 in Mt. Carmel, Ohio he married Pearl Hamilton.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl Bales of Hamilton; two sons, Michael (Pamela) Bales of Trenton and Gregory (Marcia) Bales of Hamilton; a daughter, Victoria Bales of Hamilton; five grandchildren, Julie (Daniel) Ellison of Trenton, Tammy (Pat) Ferguson, Lori (John) Winkelbach, Tonya (Darryl) Pies, and Tracy Scalf, all of Hamilton; five great-grandchildren, Tosha Lynn, Chandler, Charlie, Brody, and Hayden; a brother, Elles Bales of London, Kentucky; two sisters, Mascal Olender of Hale, Michigan and Carolyn Anderson of London, Kentucky; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jack Bales; a granddaughter, Andrea Bales, and a great-grandson, Coty.
Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Friday, April 2, 2010 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Sonny Hurd of Lighthouse Fellowship officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
