James R. Beckett

James R. Beckett, age 74, passed away at his residence on Friday December 18, 2009. He was born in Hamilton on April 28, 1935 the son of John R. and Adeline (Schmitt) Beckett. James was a fifth-generation farmer on the family farm and was a longtime member of Faith Church. On July 21, 1960 in Hamilton he married Rena Evonne Tobias.

He is survived by his wife, of 49 years, Rena Evonne Beckett; two daughters, Janet (Bruce) Finkbine and Barbara (Wesley) Marcum; four sons, Eric (Amy S.) Beckett, Derk (Amy L.) Beckett, Adam (Tammie) Beckett, and Charles (Christina) Beckett; a brother, John (Carol) Beckett; a sister, Janet Beckett; and fourteen grandchildren, Rebecca Finkbine, Bruce (Sarah) Finkbine, Nicole (Kenneth) Snelling, Casey Marcum, and Amanda, Amber, Jessica, Daniel, Andrew, Elizabeth, John, James, Sarah, and Joseph Beckett. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be held at Faith Church, 1877 Millville Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio 45013, on Monday, December 21, 2009 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dr. Alan C. Minor officiating. Burial will follow in Darrtown Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. Memorials may be made to Faith Church or to Hospice of Cincinnati.
