James Isaac Bowling, age 79 of Hamilton, passed away at The Laurels of Hamilton on Tuesday, July 27, 2021. James was born in London, Kentucky on December 12, 1941 to the late Coston and Ida Mae Bowling. Known to many as Jim, he served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Kearsarge (CVS-33). After his time in the service, Jim worked as a welder for many local companies, including Ace Machine Tool. Jim loved to fish and spend time out on the water.
James is survived by his daughter, Michelle Bowling Hamlin; his sister, Mary Lou; his brothers, Jerry and John D.; brother in law, Justus Duemer; as well as many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, extended family members and close friends.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Duemer Bowling; his son, James Scott Bowling; and his sisters, Joan and Josephine.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 from 5:00 PM until the time of his Memorial Service at 7:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave., Hamilton, Ohio, with Chaplin Darrell E. Stone officiating.
