James D. Bridge

James D. Bridge, age 67 of Hamilton, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2019. Born in Chadron, Nebraska, to Donald and Phyllis (Mahlendorf) Bridge, Jim graduated from the University of South Dakota in 1974 with a degree in Computer Science and worked 45 years in information technology supporting scheduling systems, a career which moved him to Washington state and Texas before bringing him to Ohio in 1985.

Jim was a man of great faith whose lifelong passion was for others to encounter the love of God during their earthly stay, leading to a salvation experience for eternity. He was committed to discipling believers in their Christian walk and to that end enjoyed preaching, teaching, and leading small group fellowships in Bible studies and discussion.

Deeply devoted to his family and friends, Jim consciously maintained relationships and delighted in reconnecting with people from every stage of his life and ministry. A sports enthusiast, Jim loved watching and talking baseball and football with his sons and their friends, passionately supporting the Seattle Seahawks long after he moved away from the Pacific Northwest. A lifelong love of fireworks made each 4th of July holiday a multi-day celebration with family, great music, food, and an abundance of explosives. He loved working on his property with his faithful four-legged friends by his side.

Jim is survived by his spouse of 39 years, Elaine, sons Brian Bridge, Mark (Sarah) Bridge, Kevin Bridge, granddaughter Chloe Garrett, mother Phyllis Bridge, sister Diane (Jack) Bridge, brother-in-law Curt Seiders and their families. He is preceded in death by his father Donald Bridge and sister Nancy Seiders.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio, followed immediately by a memorial service at 7:00 PM at the same location with Rev. Sam Darla officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Lighthouse Food Pantry, New Life Mission, or King Jesus Faith Center.
