James Camp

James Douglas Camp, age 85 of Fairfield, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2017. James was born in Ashton, West Virginia on May 1, 1931 to Ward and Garnett (Hawthorne) Camp. James valiantly served our country as 1st Sargent in the Marine Corps from 1948 until he retired in 1969. He also worked and retired from US Postal Service. On February 26, 1977 he married Kathleen Benge of Hamilton, who preceded him in death. James was a member of the VFW #1069, AmVets Post 71, Middletown DAV, and FOE Post 407. He is dearly loved by his family.

James is survived by his daughter, Trudy Cain; his granddaughters, Morgan Cain, Natasha Vauter, Destiny Griffin; his siblings, Gusty Chapman, Junior Camp, and William Camp. James was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Theresa Thompson; and his wife, Kathleen Camp.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave., Hamilton, Ohio, on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 17, 2017 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home.
