James Campbell Jr., age 89 of Hamilton, passed away on January 6, 2017. Jim was born in Manchester, Kentucky on September 11, 1927 to James Sr. and Lucy (Hudson) Campbell. He retired from Champion Paper after 42 years of service. Jim was a dedicated member and longtime Deacon of Millville First Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter, a Kentucky Colonel, and had a passion for helping others.
Jim is survived by his wife of 38 years, Betty L. Campbell; his daughter, Donna (Don) Jeffries; his devoted step children, Ronald (Irma) Browning, Marilyn (Michael) Dickerson, and Mark Browning; a most devoted granddaughter, Sarah Dickerson; his grandson, Christopher (Donna) Whitehill; two great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Elizabeth (Charles) Davidson, Joyce Morgan, and Maxene (Hoover) Barger; and a special sister-in-law, Mary Campbell. James was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Pearl Campbell, Eunice Saylor, and Helen Lewis.
Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio, on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 12:00 PM with Rev. Barry Clardy and Pastor Fred Napier officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 13, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to Millville First Baptist Church.
