James Michael Cheek

James Michael Cheek, age 67 of Hamilton, passed away at Fort Hamilton Hospital on Saturday, June 17, 2017. James was born in Harlan Co., Kentucky on September 7, 1949 to James R. Cheek and Vivian (Hibbard) Cheek. James graduated with honors from Garfield High School; and attended college at the GMI Institute in Flint, Michigan. He was a United States Army Veteran serving from 1969-1971. On August 23, 1975 in Hamilton, he married Linda Shepherd. James was the President of Hamilton Die Cast for 28 years. He enjoyed golfing, and vacationing with family and friends in Myrtle Beach, and conquering Jeopardy on a daily basis.

James is survived by his wife Linda Cheek; his children, Floyd Cheek, Michael Cheek, Amanda Cheek; his grandchildren, Linda Cheek, Mason (Amber) Cheek; his great grandchildren, Autumn Logan, Summer Cheek; his mother, Vivian Cheek; his sister, Terri Ruth (Larry) Hymer; one brother, Murphy (Brenda) Cheek; and many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. James was preceded in death by his father, James R. Cheek.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio, on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Sonny Hurd officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2017 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home.
