James W. Conlin

James W. Conlin, age 80 of Hamilton, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2016. He was born in Hamilton on April 5, 1936 the son of William and Bertha (Meyers) Conlin. James was a 1954 graduate of Hamilton Catholic High School and was a veteran of the United States Army from 1959 to 1961. He was employed as a lab technician at Champion Paper Company for 40 years, retiring in 1998. On January 10, 1959 in Ft. Recovery, Ohio he married Veronica Wendel. James was a member of St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

James is survived by his wife, Veronica Conlin of Hamilton; five children, James Jr. (Beverly), Daniel (Kimberly), Thomas (Barbara), Lisa, and Kevin (Alicia) Conlin; one sister, Janet (Norm) Settle; nine grandchildren; Christopher, Alexander, Nicholas, Zachery, Cassidy, Samantha, Caleb, Jessica, and Lia; his aunt and uncle, Mary and Ray Conlin; and numerous other relatives and friends. James was preceded in death by his parents; and one daughter, Mary Theresia Conlin.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church, 382 Liberty Avenue, on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 10:00 AM with Father Rob Muhlenkamp, celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Stephen's Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the church. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of 3 Tower at Mercy Hospital for all their care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
