James Otis Crawford, age 75, passed away January 21, 2024 in Hamilton, Ohio. He was born to James and Hettie Crawford on April 3, 1948 in London, Kentucky. James was known as Odie to all that knew him. He was a giver, the ultimate provider, and a friend to so many people. The sweetest most teddy bear like man you would ever meet. He would give you the shirt off his back, as long as it wasn’t his cut off sleeved Harley shirt. Odie was the coolest partner dancer ever. He was a very frugal and humble man and probably has the first $1 he ever made. He LOVED his classic cars and attended and entered hundreds of car shows. Odie loved to ride his Harley with friends and has attended Sturgis, Bike Week and Biketoberfest many times. He worked hard his entire life. Odie instilled value, work ethic and life responsibilities on his kids and grandkids. He retired from Ford Motor Company with 40+ years. Odie was a member of the Benjamin Franklin Lodge 719, 32nd Degree Scottish Rights and the Syrian Shrine.
Odie will be dearly missed by his children, Jen Williams and Dee (Brad) Sper; his grandchildren, Kurtis, Alexis (Jarrod) and Savannah (Blake); his siblings, Connie (Delbert) Hatton, Bonnie Brandenburg and William Crawford; and a very special person whom he looked at like a son, Mitch Garland, the father of Kurtis and Alexis. Odie was proceeded in death by his parents, James and Hettie Crawford; and his brother, Andrew Crawford.
A Celebration of Life and Bike Run will be organized in the near future.
