James A. Dozier

James A. Dozier, age 73 of Hamilton passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at 8:30 PM at Hospice of Hamilton. He was born in Estill County, Kentucky on June 11, 1934 the son of Hubert and Susie Mae (Babb) Dozier. James was employed as a heavy equipment operator at Trammel Construction Company for 35 years, retiring in 1996. James was a member of Cherry Valley United Baptist Church. On February 3, 1978 in Hamilton, he married Betty Hubbard.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Dozier of Hamilton; four sons, Mark (Nancy) Dozier of Port Orchard, Washington, James Lee (Jannettee) Dozier of Castle Rock, Colorado, Roger Dale (Frances) Hubbard of Fairfield, and Everett Hubbard of Hamilton; two daughters, Tammy Marie Dozier of Centerville and Barbara (Craig) Tribbey of Knoxville, Tennessee; three sisters, Mary (Clayton) Cooper of Hamilton, and Imogene Woods and Jo Ann (Tommy) Turner, both of Irvine, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Daniel Tribbey, Christy Lee, Ashley Dozier, Patrick Dozier, William Dozier, and Karen Vaughn; two great-grandchildren, Brittany and Tyler Vaughn; and a sister-in-law, Donna Dozier. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Mary Collins; and a brother, Carl Dozier.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Saturday, June 14, 2008 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Clovis Shackleford, Pastor of Cherry Valley United Baptist Church and Rev. Claude Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
