James W. Golden Jr., age 74 of Fairfield Township passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Saturday, July 19, 2008 at 5:25 PM. He was born in Swain County, North Carolina on June 14, 1934 the son of James W. Sr. and Mary Emma (Duvall) Golden. James was employed as a jet engine mechanic with General Electric for over 46 years, retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Landmark Baptist Temple.
He is survived by two daughters, Sandy K. Hill of Lynchburg, Ohio, and Denise Yvonne (Roy) Willhelm of Ross; two sons, Ricky James (Lisa) Golden of Hamilton, and James Willie (Kimra) Golden of Washington State; ten grandchildren, Christina, Joseph, Matthew, Cassandra, William, Joshua, Amber, Daniel, Benjamin, and Aaron; one great-grandson, Justin; and one sister, Marie Kent of Bryson City, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Wednesday July 23, 2008 at 10:00 AM with Matt Holman, pastor of the Landmark Baptist Temple officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati, c/o Bethesda Foundation, PO Box 633597, Cincinnati, Ohio 45263-3597 or to the Landmark Baptist Temple, the Berean Class, 1600 Glendale-Milford Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45215. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the ladies at the park for their help and companionship, and to Landmark Baptist Temple for their prayers and support during Dad’s illness.
