James Hayes

James Hayes, age 84 of Hamilton, passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Sunday, April 22, 2018. James was born in Jackson Co, KY on June 14, 1933 to Bridget Hayes. James served in the Army during the Korean War. On December 10, 1955, he married the love of his life, Myrtle Brock. James worked at Weinman’s Engineering, Machine Tool and Mosler Safe Co. James always enjoyed fishing, playing basketball, going to church, and spending time with family.

James is survived by his wife of 62 years, Myrtle Hayes; his children, Saundra Bond, Jamesetta (Leon) Collins, Dennis Hayes, Mironda Herrin, Daniel Hayes, and Darrick Hayes; his grandchildren, Jason (Gail) Bond, Dennis B. Hayes, Stacy Bond, Darrick Boyd-Hayes, Jarrick Hayes, and Megan Hux; his 14 great-grandchildren; Keith Cox, whom was like a son; and other loving family members and friends. James was preceded in death by his mother; his grandparents, Charles and Ella Hayes; and several aunts, uncles and other relatives.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave., Hamilton, Ohio, on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Bro. Golden Brock officiating. Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home.
