James Coyle Jewart Jr., age 96 of Hamilton, passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Wednesday, July 31, 2024. Jim was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania on November 16, 1927 to James Coyle Sr. and Luella Marjorie (nee Chapman) Jewart. Jim served in the United States Navy during WWII. On September 26, 1975, he married the love of his life, his angel, Annette Jones. Jim retired from CSX Railroad after 38 years of service. He was a Mason with Crusader Lodge #720. Jim was a good story teller and was endearingly called “Grumpz” by his family.
Jim is survived by his wife of 48 years, Annette Jewart; his children, Diana (Dick) Dudgeon, Rebecca Jewart, Gene (Wendee) Taylor, Gary (Filiz) Taylor and Timothy (Margaret) Taylor; his 20 grandchildren; and his 35 great-grandchildren. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James and Luella Jewart; his children, Patricia Sue Jewart, Kathy Davidson and Jeffery Taylor; and his sisters, Marilyn Coyle Taylor and Judith Coyle Piette.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024 from 12:00PM to 1:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio 45013. Memorial Service to follow at 1:00 PM.
