James Russell Johnson Sr.

James Russel Johnson Sr., age 87, of Hamilton, Ohio, passed away on June 29, 2026. He was born in Hamilton on September 4, 1938 to James and Mary Johnson. James was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, who served his country with honor from 1959 to 1962 and continued that same dedication throughout his life.

He is survived by his children, Kim (Rob) Dennison, Sheila Renee' (James) Cook, and Rusty (April) Johnson; his grandchildren, Destiny (Tyson) Fleener, Jennifer Dennison, Janee' Toutjian, Angela Arcon, Kimberlie Cook, and Ethan and Alex Johnson; several great grandchildren, and his sister-in-law, Phyllis Johnson. James was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dave Johnson; and his grand daughter Catherine Lynne Johnson.

James will be remembered for his strength, his service, and the legacy he leaves through his family. A visitation for family and friends is planned for Friday, July 3, 2026 at Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home located at 1350 Millville Avenue from 9am to 10am with a funeral service beginning at 10am officiated by Reverend Wendell Coning of the Hamilton Dream Center. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park in Hamilton, Ohio.
