James Lester Ledington

James Lester Ledington, age 94 of Hamilton passed away at Golden Years Health Care on Friday, August 27, 2010 at 2:07 PM. He was born in Laurel County, Kentucky on August 30, 1915 the son of John and Nannie (Weaver) Ledington. James was a veteran of the United States Army during World War II from 1943 to 1945. He was employed as a crane operator at Fisher Body for 25 years, retiring in 1979. James was a member of the Talawanda Baptist Church and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and craftsman. On November 12, 1938 in Covington, Kentucky he was married to Inez Mullins and she preceded him in death in 2000.

He is survived by his nieces, Nevada Cox of Hamilton and Ruth Provence of Jonesville, Virginia; two nephews, David Cox of Hamilton and Fred Ledington of Connersville, Indiana; two special friends, Jim Edwards of Dayton and Jim Roark of Oxford; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; eight brothers, Charlie, Chester, Homer, Virgil, Arthur, Clyde, Elmer, and Denver Ledington; and two sisters, Verlie Cobb and Robin Ledington.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Timothy Suter officiating. Burial will follow in Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 1:00 PM.
