James L. (Jim) Malloy

James (Jim) L. Malloy, age 74 of Millville, passed away at home on Thursday August 1st, 2019. Jim was born in Muncie, Indiana on November 12th, 1944 to Carroll and Virginia (Lester) Malloy. On July 27th, 1974, he married Patricia A. Kelly and together they had two children. Jim spent his working career between Chrysler, Libby Glass, and the Northwest Local School district, ultimately retiring in 2011. Jim was a good man who was always ready to help someone in need, consistently offering his assistance before being asked. He had many hobbies from working on classic cars to fishing, however above all else he loved playing/coaching sports, especially softball where he coached many years for the Cincy Magic. Jim was very proud of his players and often talked of their successes, seeing many achieve their goal to play college softball. He was also an avid supporter of the National Kidney Foundation and Organ Donation. Jim was extremely proud of his family, especially his grandchildren, and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Jim is survived by his wife of 45 years, Patricia Malloy; his children, David (Shannon) Malloy, Jeff (Rosemary) Malloy, Perry (Casey) Hall, and James Joshua (Jessica) Malloy; his grandchildren, Brandon, Brooklynn, Blake, Adrieanna, Montgomery, Frankie, Allison, Brooklyn, Lila, Gwendolyn, and Beckett; and numerous other family members and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Saturday, August 10th 2pm-6pm at 5397 Shady Meadows Drive, Fairfield Twp, Ohio 45011. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the National Kidney Foundation.
