James W. McNally, age 88, passed away at Otterbein on Friday, March 13, 2015. He was born in Hamilton on August 8, 1926 to James and Hazel (Gibbs) McNally. On August 27, 1986, he married Christine Shaw Martin. James served our country in the United States Army Air Corp. during World War II. He worked for Walter Follmer Construction and Triasco Asphalt for many years serving as General Superintendent. James served as President of the Hamilton Optimist Club, chaperoned and held Friday night dances for many teens in Hamilton. James also attended the West Elkton United Methodist Church for 28 years.
He is survived by his wife Christine S. McNally, daughters Sandee L. Berlepsch (Doug), Tina S. Roughan (Jim) and Jana F. McNally; step children Dawn Roberts (Dennis) and a step granddaughter Sarah Martin; grandchildren James Brent, Shelle, Dawn, Shawna, Wayne, Sarah and Lindsay; 14 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Janet McNally, step son Steven Martin, brothers George and Bob and sisters Mary, Hazel and Doris.
Funeral service will be held at West Elkton United Methodist Church, OH State Route 503, West Elkton, Ohio, on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 11 AM with Pastor Sandra Apgar of West Elkton United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmound Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 16, 2015 from 5-8 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, Hamilton.
