James J. Patrick

James J. Patrick, age 64, of Hamilton passed away at his residence on Thursday, August 12, 2010. He was born in Portsmouth on August 9, 1946 the son of James A. and Mary F. (Host) Patrick. He was a 1964 graduate Notre Dame High School in Portsmouth and graduated in 1967 from the Ohio State Highway Patrol Academy. James was an Ohio State Highway Patrol Officer from 1967 to 1972. From 1972 to 1983 he was a Butler County Deputy Sheriff reaching the rank of sergeant. He served as a field investigator for Aetna Insurance and Esis division of General Motors. Prior to retirement James was a driver for UTS in Fairfield. He was a member and former secretary of Washington Lodge #17 F&AM. On May 21, 1977 in Hamilton, he married Catherine A Wilson.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine Patrick; two sons, J. Chad (Carrie) Patrick and David R. (Elissa) Wilson; three daughters, Kelly Lynn Patrick, Marianne Hach, and Kelli (Rusty) Adams; 11 beloved grandchildren, Zachary, Jacob, Gabriel and Caleb Patrick, Ella Cavanaugh, Kyle and Kasi Wilson, Kodi and Colton Adams, Nicholas and Samantha Hach; a sister, Becky (Greg) Jackson; a niece, Kayla Jackson; and a nephew, Ryan Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be held at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave., on Tuesday Aug, 17th at 10:00 AM with Rev. David Hargrave of Fairfield Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 5 to 8 PM, where Washington Lodge #17 will hold services at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Cincinnati Shiners’ Hospital or charity of your choice.
