James M. Setser

James M. Setser, age 87 of Franklin passed away at his residence on Tuesday, February 2, 2010. He was born in Miamisburg, Ohio on December 29, 1922 the son of Tandy Jeff and Member Elizabeth (Wells) Setser. James was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1942 to 1945. He was employed as a machinist at AK Steel for 33 years, retiring in 1974. James was a member of Pentecostal Highway of Holiness. On September 10, 1944 in Pensacola, Florida he married Lucille Fee, and she preceded him in death in 1985; on February 1, 1986 in Germantown, Ohio he married Judith M. Helfer.

He is survived by his wife, Judith M. Setser of Franklin; four children, Judith (Gene) Sims of La Fontaine, Indiana, Carol Carter of Hamilton, James A. (Kim) Setser of Germantown, and Carl D. (Sonjonae) Setser of Sarona, Wisconsin; a brother, Roy (Thelma) Setser of Fairfield; a sister, Wanda (Stanley) Italiano of Hamilton; a brother-in-law, Dick Akers of Middletown; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Virginia Akers; and a granddaughter, Emily Setser.

Funeral service will be held at the Pentecostal Highway of Holiness, 3470 Hamilton-Middletown Road, on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jerry Pascarella and Mr. Setser’s son Pastor James A. Setser officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
