James W. “Jay” Williams, age 93 of Hamilton, passed away with his wife by his side on Friday, June 27, 2025. Jay was born in Berry, Kentucky on January 14, 1932 to Ambrose and Onie Williams. Jay served in the United States Army during the Korean War. On December 24, 1950, he married Betty Brown, who preceded him in death in 2007. On February 1, 2008, he married Cathy Blakely. Jay worked in the construction industry for many years.
Jay is survived by his wife of 17 years, Cathy Williams; his son, Jim (Nancy) Williams; his step-son, Ridge (Beth) Fussell; his grandchildren, Chris (Cait), Jake (Kate), Jackson (Christy), Jason (fiancé, Lily) and James; his great-grandchildren, Lincoln and Aurora; and many nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his parents, Ambrose and Onie Williams; his wife of 57 years, Betty Williams; his brothers, Nevel Williams and Otwell Williams; and his sisters, Helen Russell and Pearl Pulliam.
