James Harvey "Bevo" Zimmerer Sr.

December 7, 1934 — April 27, 2011

James Harvey "Bevo" Zimmerer Sr., age 76 of Hamilton passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 1:35 AM. He was born in Hamilton on December 7, 1934 the son of Harvey Evans and Edith (Fath) Zimmerer. James was employed as a drum operator at Champion International Paper for 42 years. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles #3986, Amvets Post #1983, Monkey Mutual Aid Society, Moose Lodge of Middletown, and he attended Pater Avenue Free Pentecostal Church of God.

He is survived by a son, James (Burtle) Zimmerer Jr. of Hamilton; two daughters, Beverly Gfroerer of Hamilton and Claudia Curtis of Knoxville, Tennessee; two sisters, Emma (Richard) Conrad of Hamilton and Barbara McClellan of Elkhart, Illinois; 9 grandchildren, Angela, Joe, Nichole, Carmen, Tiffany, Nicholas, Jason, Amanda and Caleb; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; Nellie Zimmerer; a brother, Lawrence Zimmerer; two sons-in-law, James Gfroerer and Daniel W. Curtis; and two great-grandchildren, Brooklynn and Ethan.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Aaron Phillips, Pastor of Harmony Living Word Church officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon. Cremation will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Hospice of Hamilton. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staffs of Hospice of Hamilton and Huntington Court for all their loving care and support.
