James "Jim" M. Wargo

James “Jim” M. Wargo, age 77, of Fairfield Twp. passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Thursday, June 27, 2024. James was born in Hamilton, Ohio, on April 30, 1947, to Bernard and Elizabeth (Schroeder) Wargo.

​James graduated from St. Ann Catholic Grade School, Hamilton Catholic High School, and the University of Dayton, where he obtained a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Upon graduation, he started work with Square D Electric before moving to Fairfield Twp in 1976, where he went to work for Martin Electric. Jim was also a volunteer firefighter for Monclova Twp. Fire Department in Toledo and then Fairfield Twp. Fire Department, where he served as Fire Chief from 1984-1987. In 1985, Jim started Wargo Electrical Contractor Inc., which he operated until his passing. Jim enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Bengals play football, and all his grandkids play and swim.

​James is survived by his wife of 54 ½ years, Judith (Schriber) Wargo; their sons Gregory (Rebecca) Wargo, Jason Wargo, and Brad (Kelly) Wargo; and grandchildren Krista, Joshua, Jacob, Alex, Andrew, Katie, Ty, Ethan, Allie, Todd and Grace. James was preceded in death by his father, Bernard Wargo; mother, Elizabeth (Schroeder) Wargo; stepmother, Florence (Pater) Wargo; and grandson, Noah.

​Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church, 224 Dayton St., Hamilton, Ohio, on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at 10:00 AM with Fr. Jeff Silver of St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Stephen Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 8, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave., Hamilton, Ohio 45011. Memorial contributions can be made to The American Cancer Society.
