Janet Sue Leak, age 82 of Hamilton, passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. Janet was born in Hamilton, Ohio on March 9, 1944 to Earl and Frances (Bufler) Kieser. Janet took great pride being a lifelong, high-level dancer. She spent her younger years traveling and competing in tap, ballet, jazz, gymnastics and baton twirling. One of her accomplishments was receiving first place at the Ted Mack Original Amateur Hour Show in New York. She was passionate about being a dance instructor at her studio for many years. Janet poured her heart into caring for her mother, which led her into her career in caring for others with adult disabilities. She enjoyed spending time in her yard, her dogs always by her side. Her flower beds reflected her unique way of creating beauty. Above all, Janet was most fulfilled in her role as Mom and Mimi. She will be remembered for her strength and resilience with anything that life threw in her path.
Janet is survived by her daughters, Roxanne, Tammy and Chrissy (Matt Grathwohl) Leak; her grandkids, Chelsea and Payton; and her nephew and niece, David and Michelle. Janet was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Dale Kieser.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 27, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio 45013. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Darrtown Cemetery. The family welcomes flower arrangements or memorial contributions to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or to Angel Paws who took care of her beloved dog, Pookie.
