Janet G. Mize

Janet G. Mize, age 77 of Hamilton, passed away at Fort Hamilton Hospice Unit on Friday, November 2, 2007 at 2:40 AM. She was born in Hamilton on January 3, 1930 the daughter of Ralph and Antoinette (Getz) Lyons. Janet was employed as a nurses aide at Fort Hamilton Hospital for 25 years, retiring in 1993. She attended Hamilton City Schools and was a member of St. Joseph Church. On June 26, 1948 in Newport, Kentucky she married Gerald Mize.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald Mize; four children, Sharon (Terry) Roark, Geraldine (Chuck) Satterthwaite, Beverly (Roy) Feltner, and Paul Mize; eight grandchildren, Tammy Roark, Todd (Brenda) Roark, Travis (Jamie) Roark, Brandon Feltner, Cassie (Jim) Hirka, Rich (Lissa) Mize, Jason Mize, and Staci (Mark) Newkirk; twelve great-grandchildren, Brittany, Tiffany, Tyler, Megan, Teren, Zach, Brady, Sidney, Chelsie, Richie Jr., Jayden and Parker; brother, Richard Lyons; sister, Treva Wyatt; brother-in-law, Walter Meister; sister-in-law, Shirley Lyons; a very special granddaughter, Valerie Jones; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Walter Lyons; sister, Patricia Meister; brother-in-law, Bill Wyatt; and sister-in-law, Sally Lyons.

Funeral service will be held at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at St. Stephen’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
