Janet Yvonne Murphy

Janet Yvonne Murphy, age 72 of Hamilton passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospital on Thursday, January 3, 2008 at 5:27 AM. She was born in Hamilton on January 13, 1935 the daughter of Burton and Mary (Barker) Anderson. Janet was employed as a secretary at Wright-Bernet for 23 years. She was a devoted animal lover and enjoyed boating, traveling and camping with her husband of 57 years, Delbert Murphy.

She is survived by her husband, Delbert Murphy; a son, Delbert Lee Murphy and his companion, Rome Stewart; a granddaughter, Misty (Brian) Fariss; two great-grandchildren, Gabrielle and Stone; a stepdaughter, Deborah Miloslavich; a step-grandson, Daniel J. Stevens; two step-great-grandchildren, Savannah and Madison; two sisters, Margaret Hubbard and Beverly (Phillip) Arm; and a devoted friend and neighbor, Mary Baker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Burton Anderson and Mary Anderson-Willis, and a sister, Carol Smith.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at 11:00 AM with Chaplain Lauren Marsh of Mercy Franciscan at Schroder officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
