Janice L. Karol, age 70 of Ocklawaha, Florida passed away on Friday, May 20, 2011 at Sylvia’s House in Ocala, Florida. She was born in Mossey, West Virginia on October 27, 1940 the daughter of Woodrow and Thelma (Johnson) Evans. Janice attended Christ Church and New Miami Wesleyan Church. On December 7, 1981 in Hamilton she married Ramsey Karol, and he preceded her in death in 2009.
She is survived by five children, Perry Van Shirley of Loveland, Michael Shirley, Margaret (Guy) Still, Molly Karol, all of Hamilton, and Thelma Williams of Ocklawaha, Florida; two sisters, Judy (Larry) Cromer of Hamilton and Linda Caproula of Girard, Ohio; 9 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Friday, May 27, 2011 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Neil Gabbard of Christ Church officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, May 27, 2011 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
