Janie Joe Isaacs, age 86 of Hamilton passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2009 at 3:30 PM. She was born on November 6, 1923 in Wortham, Texas the daughter of Joseph Benton and Caty Jewell (Clere) Wood. Janie attended Friendship Baptist Church. On June 12, 1943 in Houston, Texas she married Elijah "Ike" Isaacs.
She is survived by her husband, Elijah "Ike" Isaacs of Hamilton; four children, Patricia Osterberger, Carol Brusaw, both of Cincinnati, Joseph (Linda) Isaacs and Robert Isaacs, both of Hamilton; six grandchildren, Kim (John) Wilcox, Cindy (Dave) Russell, Rene Osterberger, Rani (Steve) Hoepker, Tanya (Doug) Lape, and Kristy (Benjamin) Weaver; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, nine sisters, and three brothers.
Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Gary Jackson of Friendship Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
