Janis Lee Bowling

Janis “Jan” Bowling, age 85, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026. She was born on August 9, 1940, in Jackson County, Kentucky. Jan is survived by Gaston Bowling, her devoted husband of nearly 65 years; her treasured children, Chris (Jill) Bowling and Connie Bittner; her beloved grandchildren, Adam (Katie) Bowling, Alex Bowling, Spencer (Taylor) Bittner, and Jack Bittner; and her great-grandchildren, Maddi, Violet, and Lavender. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Alma Cook, and her cherished sister, Roma Lowe.

Jan was the heart of her family and spent her life caring for others. She was known for her gentle spirit, sweet nature, and endless generosity. She loved deeply and devoted herself completely to her family, always making sure those around her felt cared for, comforted, and loved. Her family was her greatest joy, and she doted on them every chance she had.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Golden Years Nursing Home, with especially heartfelt appreciation to Morgan and Genesis, who cared for Jan with extraordinary love and compassion and treated her like family during her time there.g

Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
