Jason E. Marshall

Jason E. Marshall, age 29, of Hamilton passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2011. He was born in Cincinnati on August 14, 1981, the son of Jeffrey and Cheryl (Thomas) Marshall. Jason was a 1999 graduate of Badin High School. He was a member of the Army National Guard since June 2000 and served two tours of duty in Operation Iraqi Freedom, receiving the Purple Heart in May 2005. In honor of his service, the City of Hamilton proclaimed January 15, 2006 "Jason Marshall Day." Jason was employed as an apprentice optician for Eye Tech in Cincinnati. His greatest joys were serving his country, being with his family and friends, music, and motorcycles. He is survived by his parents, Jeffrey and Cheryl Marshall; a brother, William "Billy" Marshall; a sister, Alyssa Marshall; grandparents James and Frances Marshall and Mary Jane Thomas; uncles and aunts James and Sharon Marshall and Carlos and Patricia Thomas; great-aunts and great-uncle Mickey Palmieri, Jessie Appleby, and Richard Thomas; best friend Tony Turco; several cousins and a host of friends; and beloved pets Eddie, Holly, and Alli. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, William T. Thomas. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church, 382 Liberty Avenue, on Thursday June 23, 2011 at 10:00am with Fr. Ronald Haft, Celebrant. Burial with military honors will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Prayers will be said at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue on Thursday at 9:00am. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or to Animal Adoption Center.
