Jay Fischer

Jay Fischer, 71, of Hamilton Ohio, died on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family.

Jay was born April 15, 1939, the third of four sons raised by William Boyce Fischer and Hazel (Harmon) in Hamilton, Ohio. He graduated from Hamilton Catholic High School in 1957. Jay then attended the University of Notre Dame and Xavier University. His heart, however, remained in Hamilton and he returned to marry his high school sweetheart, Carole Donovan on March 3, 1963. During their 47 years of marriage, Jay and Carole raised five boys of their own, and made many dear friends along the way. Jay cherished his time with his family and delighted in the accomplishments of his sons. He took great pleasure in watching Notre Dame football and Xavier basketball. He was happiest when surrounded by those closest to his heart: his wife, sons, grandchildren, family and friends.

He will remain in the hearts and thoughts of those who know and love him.

He is survived by his loving wife Carole (Donovan) Fischer and his five sons and their families: Chris and Ann Fischer, Matt Fischer, Mark Fischer, Adam and Shannon Fischer, and Andy Fischer; and his grandchildren Nick Fischer, Lindsay Fischer, Alyssa Fischer, Drew Runner Fischer, Stephanie Runner, Margot Fischer and Sam Fischer. Jay is also survived by three brothers and their families: Dan and Kay Fischer, Tom and Nancy Fischer, and Pete and Mimi Fischer.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents Hazel (Harmon) and William Boyce Fischer.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday November 20th 2010 at 11 am in Queen of Peace Catholic Church 2550 Millville Avenue with Father Jeff Bacon, celebrant. A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9 am to 11 am. Cremation will follow.
