Jay Andrew Smith

Jay Andrew Smith, age 80 of Hamilton, passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital on Saturday, April 29, 2017. Jay was born in Hamilton, Ohio on March 8, 1937 to Andrew "Happ" and Alice (Meyers) Smith. Jay was a 1955 graduate of Ross High School. On April 8, 1961, he married Kathryn Ignatius in Batesville, IN. He retired from Champion/International Papers in 1992. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards, and spending time with his family.

Jay is survived by his wife, Kathy Smith; his children, Julie (Jon) Schlichter, Craig (Becky) Smith, Doug (Lynn) Smith; his grandchildren, Heidi and Andrew Schlichter, Mackenzie and Tyler Vizedom, Hannah and Abby Smith; his sister and close friend, JoAnn Paulsen; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jay was preceded in death by his parents, his brother-in-law, Ron Paulsen, and grandson, Hayden Vizedom.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio, on Friday, May 5, 2017 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home.
