Jean Emsweller, age 86 of Hamilton passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Friday, February 12, 2010 at 3:40 AM. She was born in Laurel, Indiana on November 28, 1923 the daughter of Buford C. and Mayme (Ferris) Pindell. Jean was a member of Westside Church of Christ. On September 18, 1942 in Marion, Arkansas she married Carson Emsweller, and he preceded her in death in 2001. Jean and Carson were longtime residents of Nashville, Tennessee until they returned to Hamilton in 1985.
She is survived by a son, Larry (Margaret) Emsweller of Franklin, Tennessee; a brother, Ferris (June) Pindell of Connersville, Indiana; three grandchildren, Elysia (Chris) Sandlin of Springhill, Tennessee, Brittany Emsweller of Franklin, Tennessee, and Elizabeth (Beau) Ellenbrecker of Germany; three great-grandchildren, Anna Emsweller, Alex Sandlin, and Jude Ellenbecker; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary Catherine George and Beulah Van Blair; and a grandson, Christopher Emsweller.
Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Monday, February 15, 2010 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Dan Knisley, Pastor, and Rev. Pete Taylor, Associate Pastor, of Westside Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow in Dale Cemetery, Connersville, Indiana. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
