Jean Goebel

Jean Goebel, age 95 of Hamilton, passed away at Huntington Court on Tuesday, March 19, 2024. Jean was born in Mount Vernon, Kentucky on May 21, 1928 to the late William and Zelma (Hunt) Sams. On September 14, 1946, she married the love of her life, Howard Goebel and together they raised a family in Hamilton. She was a long-time member of East River Road Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Washington Chapter of the Order of The Eastern Star and auxiliary lifetime member of the VFW. Jean will be dearly missed by her daughter, Janet (Bill) Robertson; granddaughters, Beth (Phil) Simmons and their son, Hayden; Becky (Lee) Frobeter, and Barbara (Jerry) Ninke; as well as six great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Robert “Bob” Sams; many nieces, nephews; her neighbor & friend, Joyce Schierholt, as well as many extended family members and friends. Jean was preceded in death by her husband and her daughter, Ruth Ann Kelley; her siblings, Urban Sams, Elizabeth Schmidt, Laura Brennen, Herman Sams, Darlene Lundsford, and Lucille Sams. The family would like to express their gratitude to Bella Care Hospice, Tiffany & Danielle and the staff of Huntington Court for their expert care and compassion. Jean was laid to rest next to her loving husband in the Millville Cemetery, Hamilton, Ohio.
