Jeanette I. Schreck

Jeanette I. Schreck, age 92 of Englewood, passed away at Evergreen Retirement Community on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. Jeanette was born in Hamilton, Ohio on September 8, 1931 to Howard and Marie (nee Schoech) Schreck. She graduated from Notre Dame High School in Hamilton. Jeanette attended Good Samaritan School of Nursing in Dayton. She was an RN and Director of Surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton for over 30 years. Jeanette was a long-time member of St. Paul Catholic Church. She was an avid gardener and bird enthusiast. She loved to travel, read and crochet.  She had a fiery wit and passionate zest for life.

Jeanette is survived by her brother-in-law, Jerry Pater; her nieces and nephew, Karen (Keith) Chavies, Lisa Cochran, Steve (Shauna) Pater; her great nieces and nephew, Chase Cochran, Allison Franklin and  Sydney Asher; her dear friends, JoAnn, Patty and Sharon; and many beloved friends and nursing colleagues. Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Tom Schreck and Martha Pater; and her dear friend, Lois Field.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1000 Wenger Rd, Englewood, OH 45322. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM at the church. Graveside Service will be held at St. Stephen’s Cemetery, 1314 Greenwood Ave., Hamilton, Ohio 45011 at 12:00 PM.  Memorial contributions can be made to The National Audubon Society.
