Jenny Koenig

Jenny Koenig, age 97 of Hamilton, formerly of Indian Lake, Ohio, passed away at Gateway Springs Health Campus on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. Jenny was born in Columbus, Ohio on December 27, 1927, to the late John and Edith Grell. Jenny graduated from South High School and on January 31, 1954, she married Donald “Don” Koenig. Jenny was a secretary at Dickerson Shoes for many years before devoting herself to being a mom and, later in life, a grandma. Jenny enjoyed family trips, writing letters to friends and family, but above all, she loved spending time with her family at Indian Lake. Jenny never missed a family event or celebration and was always the one to send a card, from birthdays to holidays and every special occasion in-between.

Jenny is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Jim) Wiegand of Hamilton; son, Tom (Susan) Koenig of Plain City, Ohio; grandchildren, Meg Wiegand, Matt (Amanda) Wiegand, Sam (Lindsay) Koenig, Andrew (Bree) Koenig, and Jacob (Susie) Koenig; great grandchildren, Xander Wiegand, Juliana Wiegand, Jackson Koenig and Desmond Koenig.

Jenny was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Koenig; her sister, Kathyrn Minot and brother, Jack Grell.

Funeral service will be held at Sunset Cemetery, 6959 Broad St., Galloway, Ohio, on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 11:00 AM.
