Jesse Gadd

Jesse Gadd, age 78, of Hamilton, passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Sunday February 22, 2009. He was born in Hamilton on June 16, 1930 the son of Albert L. and Martha (Messer) Gadd. Jesse was an Army veteran serving in Germany from 1948 to 1950. He was a security officer for General Motors in Norwood for 28 years retiring in 1990, and formerly at Bendix in Hamilton. Jesse was an avid fisherman who loved to fish in Wisconsin. He enjoyed golfing and playing cards with family and friends. Jesse participated in Cardiac Rehab at Mercy Fairfield. On August 31, 1951 in Liberty, Indiana he married Bettie Burns.

He is survived by his wife, Bettie Gadd of Hamilton; a son, Barry Gadd of Virginia Beach, Va.; three grandchildren, Barry Gadd Jr., Christina (Michael) Gerber, and Stephanie Gadd; a great-granddaughter, Miley Gerber; five brothers, Bill (Bernice) Gadd of Camden, Joseph (Bernice) Gadd of Independence, Kentucky, Garrett (Alice) Gadd of Houston, Texas, Merle Gadd and Robert Gadd both of Hamilton; many nieces and nephews including a special nephew Andrew Reist. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Charles Edward Gadd; five brothers, Ben Gadd, James Gadd, Carl Gadd, Hansford Gadd, and Sanford Gadd; and two sisters, Shirley Johnson and Wanda Gadd.

Funeral service will be held at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave., on Thursday Feb. 26th at 10:00 AM Pastor Michael Gadd of Camden Pentecostal Church officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wed. from 5 to 8 PM. Jesse’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staffs at Cardiac Rehab and Hospice of Hamilton.
